File Drawers to File Folders: Transitioning disability Services from Paper to Paperless

Patricia Clarke Fleming, LMHC: Director, disAbility Services Bronx Community College, Co-Presenter Laura Schwartz, LMSW, Columbia University During a typical day at BCC’s Office of disAbility Services we interact with Students, Faculty, and Administrators, each at different entry points, each with different requests and different needs.   How can a Director deliver services in a professional, efficient way to each of these groups? If the key to running a productive office is having information at your fingertips, how is that best accomplished, while ensuring confidentiality? This presentation explores the use of a program, Titanium, instituted in 2012 in BCC’s Office of DisAbility Services.   Patricia Fleming will walk you through the reconfiguration of Titanium to address the daily operations of disability services. Laura Dayan, Assistant Director of Accommodations and Services, Columbia University, will illustrate scheduling features of the program, including use of appointment codes to track activity.  Jonathan Lacay, BCC’s Chief Information Security Officer, will address campus IT requirements, and explain the Client Import feature used to import student data from CUNYfirst.
